Job Title: Environmental Remediation Estimator
Department: EPC
Location: Remote
POSITION SUMMARY
The estimator is responsible for developing timely and accurate costing for project work involving heavy metals contaminants, which include indoor and outdoor firing ranges, brownfields, industrial sites, public spaces, design/build projects, and more. Detailed analysis of customer bid documentation, thorough understanding of regulations and project requirements, and development of estimates are critical to success. The estimator teams with the sales team to obtain the documentation and information needed for estimation, and the project management team in the successful execution of field work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and develop cost estimates, specifications, and construction schedules, and production operating schedules.
- Evaluate customer bid and project documentation to gain a deep understanding of the project scope and requirements.
- Solicit and obtain various subcontractor/vendor quotes for the project, which may include development of new vendor relationships.
- Analyze and evaluate vendor capabilities and negotiate best pricing.
- Solicit and determine how each bid partner will complete their assigned work, including teaming partnerships.
- Prepare and oversee detailed take offs and estimates thoroughly and in a timely manner. This may include extended work hours to meet bid or project time deadline.
- Participate in project economic evaluations and offer innovative project approach ideas.
- Visit customer sites as necessary to complete accurate and timely estimates.
- Perform complex analysis of collected data.
- Prepare relevant and reliable forecasts.
- Conduct complex risk analysis activities.
- Create and present reports to upper management.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with the key vendors and customers.
- Problem solve complex environmental and firing range remediation requirements.
- Navigate and stay up-to-date on environmental and construction code, laws, and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Three or more years previous working experience as a construction earthworks estimator, environmental remediation estimator, or similar.
- Knowledge of soils and environmental remediation preferred.
- Strong understanding of data analysis methods.
- Literacy in computer-based estimating, including competency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
- Familiarity with professional estimating software platforms.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to remotely manage workload and priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Open to coaching, feedback, and professional development.
- Critical-thinker and problem-solver.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment for this position is primarily home office activities along with regular field environmental and construction activity. The activity will take this individual into customers’ locations and physical activity (e.g. lifting/carrying of materials) occurs. Customer site environments may include but will not be limited to firing ranges, light and heavy industrial, and general manufacturing. Frequent extended travel by vehicle and air transit. Random Drug and alcohol testing along with background checks may be required to meet customer site access requirements. Strict adherence to proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while working in the field is required, which may include: eye and hearing protection, steel toe shoes, gloves, hard hats, respirator, environmental suit, or face shields.

Job Description
The project manager role assists in the quotation and management of federal, state, and local government and commercial contracts which can include lead abatement, lead remediation, firing range maintenance, general construction, demolition, and design/build.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and manage multiple projects at various site locations in the U.S.
- Coordinate project staffing and communication with Home Office
- Assures site safety and environmental compliance on all project sites
- Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel and subcontractors to ensure project completion on schedule and within prescribed budget
- Completes communication with client and performs contract management with each client
- Participate in leadership training and be a team player with Operations team
- Determine job costing and monitor profitability against budget.
- Purchasing of necessary materials, outside labor, and rentals.
- Project planning for flawless execution.
- Client and internal communications.
- Project-based vendor management.
- Site pre- and post-bid walks.
- Project and personnel safety oversite.
- Completion of project related reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possession of valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass background check applicable to military installations and law enforcement, including drug and alcohol testing.
- BA or BS degree preferred with at least five years of experience in environmental construction, general contraction, and government procurement experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and industry project software packages
- Experience coordinating with architects and engineers to create design and construction documents. Experience with reviewing design document submittals, reviewing cost and schedule estimates, collecting, preparing, and reporting programmatic information.
- Fluent in project management fundamentals and practical implementation.
- Ability to analyze all relevant project-related information and communicate project status and major issues in writing or verbally
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications, interpret contract terms and conditions, working knowledge of CPM scheduling, communication skills, intermediate computer skills.
- Site personnel leadership skills, and customer relationship management skills.
- Project management of government environmental and construction projects preferred
- Professional certifications are preferred to include, but not be limited to, Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Engineer (PE), American Institute of Architects (AIA), Registered Architect (RA), etc.
- Current OSHA 29 CFR 40 hour Hazwoper and applicable 8-hour refresher.
- Comply with medical monitoring requirements.
- Ability to travel 80% including long stints of up to a month before returning home
